If you are interested in design protection outside of the EU then direct national applications claiming priority from a first EU application is the normal procedure.
Costs of obtaining design protection vary greatly between territories, particularly as in some territories design applications are examined to determine whether or not the design is eligible for registration. As a rough guide, provided no serious problems arise with an application, the cost of registering a design in an overseas territory is normally in the region of £800 to £2000.
