Trademark Costs
The cost of a trademark application depends upon the number of different goods and services in the application.
For administrative purposes goods and services are split into 45 ‘classes’ under the Nice Classification system. A rough guide to the trademark classes may be found here.
In the UK, Europe, and most other territories the more classes in an application the greater the filing cost.
Also, trademark protection is on a territory-by-territory basis and costs increase with the number of territories that you wish to cover.
However, you only need to consider protecting your trademarks in your commercial markets, so if you only trade in the UK than just a UK registration should be sufficient.
We work to fixed fees for UK and EU trademark applications where no problems arise, and the cost of dealing with any objections or opposition is on a time-spent basis.
We want you to know the likely cost of pursuing trademark protection in advance of engaging our services, so we provide all new clients with leaflets setting out a guide to the costs and procedure involved in seeking trademark protection.
